Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning together can help enhance the underlying purpose of Business Intelligence.

It is exciting to see that everyone is jumping on the trend of AI and ML across several industries. But misconceptions and lack of understanding are making it just as bigger of a villain. With the rate that ML and AI are taking over (or better yet, coming in front of view), people’s concerns are rising just as fast.

AI has been popularized by pop culture to be something destructive or replacing. But the reality is the complete opposite, as is visible across different organizations and their applications. Business intelligence existed before the rise of AI and ML and will go on (augmented and supported) with new changes.

Business Intelligence has always been around to help businesses analyze their actions, produce reports and help them develop. Business analytics deals with what “has been,” and AI and ML together can help enhance the underlying purpose. As a form of intelligence, that helps drive the entire field of study and industry ahead rather than replace or dissolve it completely. AI and ML help us look into the future or instill a sense of intelligence, and there is a different field of study for this purpose, aka data science.

Business intelligence will not be out of view once AI and ML take over, even if they automate things. AI and ML together are not here to take over fields in the industry in any way but help accelerate growth. Some low-skilled jobs or tasks that do not need a lot of manual effort might be automated. But generating reports and helping businesses understand how to go forward with BI results will not change.

If you are worried about AI and ML overtaking your career or potential field of study, there is nothing to worry about. But, at the same time, it is a must to be abreast of all new things coming in in the IT industry, or you can find yourself outdated and concerned for your career. It has always been the trend with any new technology or tool, but AI and ML bring genuine concern along with them because of their nature. Automating any job or even part of a job is something to be worried about, but not in the case of business intelligence.

Business intelligence deals explicitly with any transactions, reports, and other necessary elements to help understand your business results and working. With the help of AI and ML, these things have accelerated to assist and help create new avenues for improvement for businesses. Moreover, there will be a considerable amount of time for companies to adopt new AI and ML tools and train and deploy them for organization-wide use. AI and ML can help shorten the time needed for tasks like data capture, extraction, among other critical processes.

You must have already seen that Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning entered the field of Business Intelligence and made things a little more comfortable. They would in the future help in the low-skill parts of your job, help accelerate and find new avenues.
